I’m pretty sure I’ve had a bio about this on my Goodreads list for a while, so I sort of feel like I cheated by watching.
7 June 2018: Hereditary
Holds up very nicely to a second viewing, but with Aster’s attention to detail I would expect nothing less. You get the feeling everything you see & hear in the film matters, if you could only put the pieces together correctly.
3 June 2018: Deep Red
Goblin is great, don’t get me wrong, but does the score enhance the dramatics of the movie or just sound cool? It was particularly distracting in this one.

Should’ve come with a trigger warning for specifically me. Jesus H, what a screenplay. That floating scene? Heart stopping.

I usually like to go into a movie as blind as possible, so I didn’t know these were real people. Now that I do, wow. The director gets great performances out of everybody. This is quite an achievement.

Gaby Hoffman was good, but ‘it’s Rosemary’s Baby but with lesbians!’ is a lame premise & a pointless exercise.
