We've talked about the trailer for our next movie before on the podcast, but now we are finally able to watch and review the actual movie. As much as we love Halloween and October, it feels good to move away from bigger, more "mass-market" horror films and get back into lesser-known horror. So join us next time when we'll be covering Goodnight Mommy.

Recap - American Horror Story: Hotel (Ep. 4)

American Horror Story: Hotel, Season 5, Episode 4

Title: "Devil's Night"

Aired: 10/28/2015

Synopsis: Wow! Where do I even start with this episode? So the “Halloween Week” episodes of American Horror Story have traditionally been pretty Halloweeny, so to speak, as well as a bit more action-packed than the rest of the season’s episodes (with the exception of Asylum, whose Halloween episode was uncharacteristically lackluster); In Murder House, we got a two-parter where the dead come above ground to walk amongst the living; Coven gave us zombies and Voodoo; Freak Show introduced us to Edward Mordrake (another two-parter); and finally, with Hotel, we get the aptly titled Devil’s Night, which introduces us to a handful of new, unsavory characters.

In this episode, Detective Lowe reneges on his vow of sobriety by starting off the night with a few martinis, which he enjoys while in the company of one Miss Aileen Wuornos. After an unsuccessful attempt at purchasing some sexy time with the infamous femme fatale, Detective Lowe is invited to the dinner party to end all dinner parties, hosted by Mr. March. The guests at this dinner party are really a colorful bunch with one very specific pastime in common, and Detective Lowe soon finds himself in a rather uncomfortable position.

33 | Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension

Director: Gregory Plotkin

Writers: Jason Pagan, Andrew Deutschman, Adam Robitel, Gavin Heffernan, Brantley Aufill

Stars: Chris J. Murray, Brit Shaw, Ivy George, Dan Gill, Olivia Taylor Dudley

Synopsis: After discovering a camera with the ability to see and record beings from the "ghost dimension", a family does everything they can to protect their daughter from a malevolent entity, intent on possessing her. This is the sixth and presumeably final installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise.

After getting our hands on some advanced screening passes for Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension, we decided to squeeze a review in before moving on to Cooties. So...once again...next up, we'll be covering Cooties.
