The Shed, Koko-di Koko-da, Fantasy Island

Hey hey kids! I’m back with a few trailers for flicks that juuust came out. Now listen: I’m just as aware of the title of this page as you are, but technically these movies have most likely not been released in the literal sense in your location, so they may still be new to you. And that Koko-di Koko-da one looks bonkers, so I didn’t want you to miss out.

First up we’ve got The Shed, which was released in the US November 15.

I’ll be honest, after seeing the trailer I’m not super interested in this. It just seems too much like too many other movies. Still, what I’ve read about it has been intriguing, so maybe it’s worth a shot. It’s streaming on Prime video meow.

Oh boy, this sure seems strange. This one was also released November 15.

Ladies & gentlemen, THIS is how you do a trailer. I have no idea what’s going to happen in this film but I sure as hell want to see it now. Koko-di Koko-da premiered at this year’s Sundance & evidently has a limited theatrical release in the US. Maybe if you live in a very cool city you can catch it, otherwise you’ll have to wait for a streaming date with the rest of us plebes.

Next up, another reboot. This time the folks at Blumhouse have decided to turn Fantasy Island into a horror movie. It’ll be in theaters on Valentine’s Day 2020. Let’s take a look…

It looks fun enough I guess, in a Monkey’s Paw, be careful what you wish for sort of way. My knowledge of the original series is limited to an SCTV sketch, but it seems like playing up the horror is a new thing, yes? I can get behind a reboot that changes genres. I’m not familiar with any of the attractive young people in this, but they’re likely popular so folks should enjoy watching them die. Sure to make another zillion dollars for Blumhouse.

So if you’re keeping score at home that’s one movie you can watch now, one you can watch very soon & one to look forward to next year. Let me know what you think about these. I’ll be back soon with another batch of new trailers to discuss.
